The Brad Cameron Mulemanship Clinic is a popular event that is designed specifically for the Saddle Mule. Mule people are very excited to learn from someone who truly knows and understands mules! Brad started his Mulemanship Clinics in 1994 literally by request, and has carried them on by popular demand.
Brad has found that the common, mechanical methods which rely on fear and intimidation no longer apply to mules. Brad's clinics give mule owners an opportunity to learn a better and more effective way of handling their mule based on an understanding of the mules mind. Mule riders, eager to seek Brad's knowledge have kept him on the road annually since the beginning in 1994. Brad's gentle communication process opens a willing mind, which creates a willing partner.
Brads Mulemanship Clinic and training technique has been featured in numerous and major equine publications including Trail Rider and Western Horseman Magazines. Brad's clinics are also a qualifying event for the American Donkey and Mule Society's “Versatility Award Program”.
“My clinics are an opportunity for me to help you better understand and enjoy your mules. No one else can offer the many years of clinic experience that I have. Whether as a group, or one on one my goal is to use that knowledge and experience in a way that will benefit you and your mule the most”.

Colt Starting Class: This class is for young mules that are ready to be started under saddle or older mules that may need restarting. Usually 2-3 year old colts are in this class. All participants will be saddling and riding their own colts under supervision. The entire first day of the clinic will be devoted to colts along with the next three afternoons. Participants could expect to get 2-3 rides if things progress well and learn solid training fundamentals, with which to progress from, after they get home. These colts should end up being fine saddle mules. The Colt Starting Class runs Friday all day, then Saturday, Sunday, and Monday afternoon half days.
Mulemanship 1 Class: This class is for saddle mules that can be ridden. The class is designed for people who want to further their own riding skills and enhance their mule’s ability. Participants will learn ways to produce a soft and responsive animal that is balanced and sensitive to their requests. This class pertains to all riding disciplines and interest. A must for anyone needing to improve the skills and understanding necessary, to create an exceptional saddle mule. Three half day classes.
Mulemanship Basics Class: This class is for very green mules with just a few rides on them, or very new riders who need a solid foundation in working with and riding mules. Half of the class time will be spent on the ground, learning the basics of Ground work and leading exercises which will increase the participants timing and feel, plus get their mule more responsive and leading better. There will be lessons in general safety, the basics of saddles and tack, and learning to “read” the mule properly. The rest of the class time will be spent in the saddle working on understanding the basics of good Mulemanship and confidence building. This class is designed for individual attention, regardless of skill level. Three half day classes.
Cow Working Class: This is an introductory level class for working cattle in a ranch style format. The emphasis is on good Mulemanship and low stress stock handling. Learning these techniques will enable participants to gain confidence handling cattle in a calm and controlled manner. Properly introducing the mule to cattle will build the mule’s confidence. Teaching participants how to properly position themselves on a cow will make both a winner in any cow working situation. Three half day classes.
Ranch Mule Class: This class is for those who would like to learn the basic procedures of working with cattle-including cow working techniques, ranch roping, stock handling, etc. in a ranch type situation. The emphasis will be on how to safely and effectively work with cattle while riding your mule. Half of the class you will be working on groundwork and mounted maneuvers that are necessary for cow working, ranch roping, and ranch work – the other half you will be working with the cattle and able to put to use the ideas that you have practiced. You will learn how to properly introduce your mule to cattle. You and your mule will gain confidence handling cattle so your mule can accomplish this in a calm and controlled manner.
The Ranch Roping portion of the clinic is just a segment each day for those wanting to rope and learn more about the different shots and techniques used. For those who have no intention or desire to rope, participating in this segment is not mandatory. There will be plenty for everyone to work on. This is a fun class with lots to learn for everyone! Three half day classes.
